Chocolate Fondue

Inspired by Hygge (pronounced “Hoo-gah”), the Danish concept of staying cozy during colder months, this fondue pairs marzipan and winter fruits with dark and milk chocolate.

It’s time to dust off your long lost fondue pot. This ‘60s and 70s-era dinner party staple is cool again. Make this recipe—featuring seasonal fruits that taste even more delicious dipped in chocolate—for any occasion, from a cozy night in for two, to après ski cocktails with friends.

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine chocolates.
  2. In a pot set over medium heat, bring cream just to a simmer, taking care it does not overflow. Pour cream over chocolate so it is completely covered and let stand until chocolate has melted, about 2 minutes. Stir with a spatula until mixture is smooth and shiny. Transfer to a fondue pot and set over low heat. Serve with marzipan, citrus and persimmons.
